IBS Scholar Testimonials
"Overall, the show was an incredible experience—great networking, insightful sessions, and a firsthand look at industry innovations. As a scholar, I appreciated the access and opportunities to connect with professionals I might not have otherwise met."
Jabari Bell, 2025 IBS Scholar Recipient
"This was truly an opportunity that meant so much to me especially in my first few years of running our own business. I would never have been able to come without the scholarship, and it was a really incredible experience."
Kat Kabat, 2025 IBS Scholar Recipient
"I thoroughly enjoyed my time at IBS and am grateful that NAHB gave me the opportunity to attend. I plan on making IBS a yearly trip now and have already become more involved with my local HBA since my experience. "
Andrew 'Knox' Newell, 2025 IBS Scholar Recipient
"Loved the show! Genuinely, this was an incredible experience. I loved the events that I did attend, and I loved the group. We all had differences and the diverse age groups, even in the bracket of scholarship winners allowed for great conversation! I love that we were from all over the area and could have genuine dialogue surrounding the challenges in the home building industry. "
Alexa Lee, 2025 IBS Scholar Recipient

The application process is now open. Scholarship applications were accepted from June 1-July 24, 2026.
Applications are reviewed, analyzed and scored based on two equally important components: (1) the written application and (2) the video submission. Dedicate time and attention to both sections.
The written part is made up of six sets of questions (Applicant, Member Details, Company Details, About You, Video Upload and Referral).
The Video Upload portion of the application will require you to provide a video response to the question “What excites you about being part of the home building industry? And how will attending the 2027 NAHB International Builders' Show® impact your professional development and benefit your business?"
VIDEO SUBMISSION TIPS GUIDELINES:
- Your video is your opportunity to illustrate your personality, passion and creativity. This is your chance to stand out, so have fun with it and let us get to know who you are.
- Don't just provide your 'video voice over' within the video presentation, plan to include yourself within the video.
- Your video should be between 1-5 minutes long.
- Before submitting your video, make sure the lighting and audio quality allow you to be seen and heard clearly.
- Submit your video by providing a link to it within the application portal (i.e Dropbox, YouTube, etc.).
- When finalizing your video link, make sure that it will remain live/valid until September 2026.
Share how you're involved in the industry at the local level. Explain how you're directly involved with your local HBAs through projects, events, council/committees and etc.
Your video is another great place to show us who you are and why you should be selected for this incredible opportunity, so don't be afraid to be creative and be authentic.
