Don Dabbert Jr. was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and moved to Fargo, North Dakota, in 1985. His early passion for architecture and design led him into the homebuilding industry. Don began his career in 1992 with Contemporary Builders and, in 2010, founded Dabbert Custom Homes with a vision to build homes that reflect the people who live in them. Today, Dabbert Custom Homes builds more than 60 single-family homes annually across Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, Horace, and surrounding communities. Don also owns and operates DCH Property Management, which manages over 200 single-family, multi-family, and commercial properties throughout the region. His work includes residential developments such as Hampton Place, Rivers Edge, and Cub Creek, as well as commercial projects including the Shoppes at Boulevard in West Fargo and East 32nd in Fargo. Don has been actively involved with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for more than two decades. He currently serves as Area 10 National Area Chairman and serves as NAHB National Chairman, representing North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. His leadership includes service as State Representative, BUILD-PAC Trustee, NAHB Senior Life Delegate, committee chairman, and judge for the Best in American Living Awards. At the state and local levels, Don has served as President of both the North Dakota Association of Builders and the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead, earning multiple Builder of the Year and Horizon Awards. He is deeply committed to community service through long-term board involvement and charitable initiatives.
