Entering the construction industry immediately after college, Alex Northam considers himself to be in the early phases of his career. With over a decade of experience in both residential and commercial construction, he has served across a variety of roles, including customer service, superintendent/project management, and supply chain. Most of Alex's tenure is with his current company, Taylor Morrison, and he has successfully led the planning and construction of multifamily, single-family, and large commercial projects. Alex brings a people-focused approach to every aspect of his work, driven by a commitment to creating homes and communities that make a lasting impact. A passion for innovative solutions and negotiation led to his selection as Resource Planning Manager during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he helped develop effective solutions to supply chain challenges. A capstone project in this role was partnering with the Extreme Home Makeover team to lead a 96 hour build in Hutto. Since then, Alex was promoted to Purchasing Manager for the Austin Division of Taylor Morrison, where he currently leads the purchasing, estimating and architecture activities. An active member of the Austin Home Builders Association (HBA), Alex supports and participates in outreach initiatives including HomeAid and Community First! Village. He remains passionate about the future of homebuilding, particularly in how technological advancements, next generation outreach and building science can help address the national housing shortage and bridge the labor gap in industry.
